First Generation

1. William Cole was born on 11 Dec 1828 in Fromes Hill,Herefs,England. He was christened on 13 Feb 1831 in Fromes Hill,Herefs,England. He died on 13 Mar 1911 in Nephi,Juab,Utah. He was buried in Nephi,Juab,Utah.

Rebaptised Jun 1841 (he indicated this on his endowment record.)
TIB card for marriage date to Elizabeth Sarah Jenkins.
Heard President Woodruff preach the first sermon preached in Herefordshire - he
was one of the United Brothers.  Baptized by Elder John Cheese in 1840.
Immigrated April 6, 1841, crossed in the ship "Caroline", reached Nauvoo (by way
of Quebec), July 4.  Lived in Nauvoo until the spring of 1846 then crossed the
Mississippi river and camped by a slew for twelve weeks.  All of the company
had chills and fever.Mother and family had gone twenty miles West.  She
returned and got him and took him to Winter Quarters - he had chills every
other day all the way there.  In the Spring William had Black Scurvy.  They dug
artichokes, onions, and horse radish.  William went to Missouri for provisions
and started back.  He met his mother's team and sent her driver on to Winter
Quarters with his load and went back for provisions for starting West.
Traveled in Bishop Hunter's hundred, Joseph Horn's fifty, and William Taylor's
ten.  Arrived in Salt Lake City October of 1847.  He went to California in the
Fall of 1849 and returned in the Spring of 1852.  He moved to Nephi in the Fall
of 1852.  He reached Nephi November 18, 1852.  He was married to Emma Jenkins
by Bishop Jacob G. Bigler in Nephi.  They were sealed in the Endowment House in
Salt Lake City.  William was ordained a High Priest by William Paxman September
3, 1892.  He received his second washing in the Manti Temple.

William married (1) Emma Jenkins daughter of James Jenkins and Elizabeth Wright on 29 Sep 1857 in Nephi,Juab,Utah. Emma was born on 15 Mar 1840 in Presteigne,Radnor,Wales. She died on 29 Aug 1920 in Nephi,Juab,Utah. She was buried in Nephi,Juab,Utah.

William married (2) Elizabeth Sarah Jenkins daughter of James Jenkins and Elizabeth Wright in 1856. Elizabeth was born on 21 Sep 1836 in Presteigne,Radnor,Wales. She died on 25 Sep 1875.
