HISTORY
Jacob Workman came to Utah with the Brigham Young company.
Jacob Workman helped build the Nauvoo, Salt Lake and St. George temples.
From Our Pioneer Heritage Vol 18 pg 136 "Jacob Lindsey Workman was born July 7, 1812, at Monroe, Overton, 
Tennesse; came to Utah in 1848. He was called to the Las Vegas Mission in 1856 and spent the latter part of this mission 
working in the lead mines. He was released October 12, 1857, and in 1862 was called to settle in Dixie. He died there 
July 28, 1878."

On the West side of the Monument errected A. D. 1888 in memory of those members of the Church of Jesus Christ of 
Latter Day Saints who died in 1846, 1847 and 1848, during their exodus to seek a home beyond the Rocky Mountains it 
lists Nancy Workman and Samuel Workman. (This is the Mount Pisgah Monument)
